    NPOESS Instruments - APS

Through the end of 2002, the development of the Aerosol Polarimeter Sensor (APS) has been in the Concept Exploration Phase, as managed by the IPO. The three competitors, Ball, Raytheon Santa Barbara, and SpecTIR, have been doing concept development and risk identification. The next phase of the acquisition of this sensor, managed by our NPOESS prime contractor, is expected to select the APS provider in early 2003.

The documents below provide some insight into APS.

    APS Briefing (Power Point ® 587KB )
Polarimeter Quick Theory (Power Point 41KB)
Sensor Requirements Document (Word ® 172KB)
