Mission Assurance Division

Mission Assurance ensures the highest probability of mission success for the NPOESS program. Working with the Systems Engineering and the Product teams in the NPOESS/IPO, Mission Assurance fosters early integration and life cycle implementation of reliability and quality assurance. Mission Assurance also provides independent assessment on program milestones and risks. As a tri-agency program, Mission Assurance coordinates reliability and quality assurance requirements with Air Force, DOC, and NASA. Through these steps the IPO will identify and mitigate program risks at the earliest opportunity. NPOESS mission success is determined based on the system's operational performance in satisfying customer needs.
